Jalapeno jelly time

Jalapeno jelly sold here.

Local sandwich and pastry shop Sweetly Divine offers customers classic menu items with a unique exception, jalapeno jelly.

The shop offers seven different varietes of jalapeno jellies -- all of which are made in the kitchen at it's Logan based location. Consumers can pick up a jar of jalapeno jelly at the shop directly, selected local grocery stores and on the Sweetly Divine website.

The jelly is spread on homemade focaccia bread -- that is baked fresh.

"I wanted to make my sandwiches different from anyone else," said owner and chef Mark Grodowski. "So I put jalapeno jelly in them."

Grodowski, who immigrated to the United States from Poland, opened the shop in 2006 with his wife, Marilee.

The pastry chef is very proud of his jalapeno jelly -- which he refers to as his "baby."

Customers are welcome to free samples of the jelly.

"The pineapple jalapeno jelly is pretty good -- it has a little heat, but tastes just like the fruit," said employee Carolyn Simmons.

Grodowski said other popular menu times include the eclairs and napoleons.

Simmons, who spends a lot of time preparing pastries with the chef, said the creamcheese empanadas and raspberry tarts are her personal favorite.
